My Commitment to You

Home

When you hire me as your coach, I become committed to your well being and aspirations. I am here for your emotional support, for your accountability and to strategize with you for your happiness and well being. I am here to offer my wisdom and the fruits of my experience. I am here with you to explore your deeper longings, to determine what it is that makes you happy and satisfied, both now and in the future. I am here to help you to clarify your dreams, to determine your goals, to be a sounding board for you to make your plans. I am here with you, step by step, as you overcome obstacles and make your vision into reality.

You can count on me to be honest and kind. You can hold me accountable to that.
It is my intention to be balanced in my reflections to you. I am generous with praise, appreciations and positive regard, still I am confident that you want more than that from me. If I need to say something that you might not like in the short run, but that I think is in your best interest to hear, then I will phrase it it with care and consideration in a manner that I think you'll be able to assimilate and benefit from.

You can count on me to generously share what I know, as it pertains to your situation. You can count on me to listen deeply, until I really get what you are attempting to communicate, until you hear yourself in a new way.

Confidentiality

What you and I talk about in our sessions is your business. I vigorously avoid talking about your business with anyone. I won't be gossiping with clients about each other or with anyone else. You can hold me accountable to that. I won't be talking about your business with my family or friends.

That being said, I must add a caveat. If I think you are going to seriously hurt yourself or someone else, I will have to say something to someone who can prevent that. Further, the legal system doesn't recognize the coaching relationship as privileged as the lawyer/therapist/ministerial positions. So if I'm called to testify, I have to go. Hopefully, we will avoid that sort of situation.

While I am in the coaching certification process, or if I need an outside perspective on how to help you meet your goals, or if I think that recounting your experience will help someone else, then I might talk about the work we do together with an outside party. I will do this in the most general manner possible, avoiding all identifying markers.

In our working relationship I am not asking for you to trust me. I intend to earn that honor and to maintain the privilege of your confidence.
